OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES
The VP, Technical Accounting is responsible for overseeing the company’s technical accounting function, including providing technical accounting guidance in connection with significant business contracts and M&A activity, the implementation of new accounting standards, overseeing the lease accounting function, and coordination of all technical accounting items and quarterly monitoring process across the department and company.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Provide technical accounting guidance to the Company’s divisions, corporate development team and other corporate functions in connection with significant business transactions, contracts and other accounting issues
• Advise on the structuring of transactions and consult on proposed transactions, including consolidation assessments
• Determine impact of new accounting standards, work with division to implement them across the company and aid with the preparation of related disclosures for external reporting
• Assist in accounting-related diligence materials and review of transaction documents in connection with acquisitions and divestitures
• Support completion of purchase accounting for business combinations, including review of internal and 3rd party valuations
• Manage the lease accounting team in Budapest and ensure that leases get properly identified and recorded across the company
• Oversee the coordination of all technical accounting items to ensure they are completed by the appropriate department or team member
• Perform quarterly and annual investment impairment assessments
• Advise divisions and corporate groups on accounting for restructuring and other corporate matters, including lease-related actions
• Document accounting conclusions in comprehensive accounting memos
• Preparation of presentations/technical decks for various meetings as needed
• Work with external auditors during quarterly and year end reviews and audits by preparing information requests and addressing inquiries.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• Minimum of 15 years of accounting and technical accounting experience
• Supervisory experience
• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with ERP platforms, Oracle a plus
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior entertainment & media experience a plus
• CPA firm plus in-house corporate experience highly preferred
• Ability to deliver against goals and deadlines
• Ability to effectively communicate and persuade others to drive work forward
• Ability to design, apply and interpret robust analytical solutions to support business performance and decision making
• Ability to translate “big picture” vision and long-term outlook into clear objectives and action plans

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $200,000.00 - 250,000.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
