Overview & Responsibilities:

 

The Vice President of Production for CBS Media Ventures is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of it’s first-run series, including Inside Edition, Entertainment Tonight, The Drew Barrymore Show, Hot Bench and Flip Side.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

The Vice President of Production will be reporting to the SVP, Programming Strategy & Digital Networks. They will lead all aspects of production management activities working in collaboration with the Executive Producer and Executive in Charge of Production of each show on budget, staffing, talent, contracts, leasing, and other logistical matters. The VP will collaborate with the News and Stations divisions as well as other corporate production and technical areas. They will also work together with the teams responsible for human resources, business affairs, rights and clearances, risk management, sales, labor issues, etc.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years’ experience in Television Production working in various production roles, demonstrating their understanding of the entire production process
  • Must possess excellent leadership and management skills. They need to be able to inspire and motivate their team, delegate tasks effectively, and make critical decisions under pressure.
  • Budgeting and financial management are integral parts of this role. They should have a solid understanding of financial principles and be able to create and manage show budgets effectively.
  • Must be an effective communicator and collaborator. They need to be able to communicate the creative vision to the production team and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that everyone is aligned and working towards a common goal.
  • Must have significant technical knowledge in studio, remote, post and remote production including automation
  • Expertise in production methods and the latest production technology
  • Experience with labor unions and compliance
  • Calm under pressure and a willingness to be flexible to resolve how best to work with different production teams.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $177,000.00 - 221,000.00. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
