Location: New York, NY-based
Job Type: Part-Time (20/hours a week)
Salary Range: $75-80/hour
Overview
48 Hours is seeking a Video Editor, Podcasts to help support its growing slate of video-first podcast programming. This editor will be responsible for video post production on a weekly series, along with the production of high-impact social assets. The ideal candidate brings strong experience editing fast-paced video content, ideally an understanding of audio editing, a sharp editorial instinct, and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with editorial, technical, and marketing teams. This role reports to the Senior Director, Podcast Operations and Production.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit weekly video episodes for 48 Hours: Case by Case from recording through final delivery
- Support editing and post-production for newly commissioned 48 Hours podcast series as needed
- Assist with in-studio recordings and production support when required
- Create platform-specific social video assets in collaboration with marketing and audience teams
- Partner closely with editorial teams to ensure episodes meet creative, journalistic, and brand standards
- Coordinate with technical and production teams to ensure smooth post-production and delivery
Qualifications
- 5+ years editing audio/video podcasts
- Proficiency in Adobe and/or Avid video/audio editing and mixing
- Established knowledge of Riverside and Descript
- Experience with scoring, utilizing music libraries
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Sharp editorial instinct with regard to use of broll/photo coverage in an edit.
- Collaborative skills, working with various teams
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Hiring Salary Range: $75.00 - 80.00.
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
