This position is critical to the operation of the building and its equipment, oversees and assists the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineers with the mechanical and infrastructure of the facility.
Maintains and operates all HVAC equipment, chillers, and life safety equipment for the facility and its tenants.


We seek a Watch Engineer to join our Facilities Management team.  You will be responsible for working directly with the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineers. You will assist with the operation and maintenance of all HVAC mechanical, plumbing, and generator equipment and systems for the property. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, performance of day-to-day preventative maintenance. Assist in overseeing contractors working on the premises. The Watch Engineer will be on a swing shift schedule and will be required to support during emergency situations as needed. Benefits will be provided by Paramount in lieu of union. 

 


Overview and Responsibilities:

Handle Daily Reporting and Logbooks as assigned.

Coordinate with Chief to ensure code compliance on Cooling Tower Documentation, FDNY Logs, annual maintenance inspections.

Daily inspection of all HVAC, and fire systems.

Coordinate and oversee vendors working on-site.

Monitor operation of water cooling and air conditioning equipment. Including but not limited to Heating, ventilation, hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions on an as need basis. Performs preventive tasks when required. Oversees all repairs when necessary.

Carry out preventive maintenance of various types of mechanical equipment including Heating & Fan Powered VAV systems, plumbing in pantries, bathrooms, industrial kitchen equipment and hot water heaters, steam stations

Be able to work OT on request and available for emergency situations.

Tuesday 8AM - 4PM
Wednesday Off Day
Thursday Off Day
Friday 8AM - 4PM
Saturday 8AM - 4PM 

 


Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of a high school education, two years in mechanical trades, or equivalent

5+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision

Certification of Refrigeration required (Q01 Certification)

 

Additional Qualifications:

Personal characteristics - Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well with tenants and vendors

Key Competencies: Reliability, Shows Initiative, Multi-Tasking, Good Communication

Exposure to HVAC mechanical systems, plumbing, welding, electrical

Certification of Fire Life Safety Director / EAP required will need to obtain on-site certification. (F89 Certification)

Proficient with BMS systems

Obtain additional FDNY COFs as required

The job is at times physically demanding and the position will require bending / carrying equipment / climbing on ladders or stairs, also good vision

HVAC and electrical engineering training

Hiring Salary Range: $92,185.60 - 92,185.60. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
