Overview:

The Strategic Yield Analytics team supports Paramount’s mission of establishing itself as the industry leading provider of premium advertising inventory. We supply strategic analysis and growth recommendations to the company’s top leadership. We work cross-functionally with partner teams including Sales, Ad Operations, BI, Finance and Product to optimize revenue. We communicate detailed and actionable insights to collaborators and build efficient, robust and flexible data architectures to support this mission. The team is responsible for long range revenue forecasting and the tracking and explanation of revenue performance.

The Yield Manager role will have the opportunity to contribute on strategic projects across departments and functions and will have significant insight to senior leadership. They will become a subject matter expert for Digital Ad Sales across the Video and Display businesses. The successful candidate will bring an analytical mind set and a hunger for understanding and growing our dynamic business.

Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate the reporting needs of the Video and Display businesses by guiding dataset design, innovating on new reporting metrics and building analyses for internal and partner audiences that drive decision making
  • Assist in the Forecast and Budget processes for Paramount’s wider Digital Ad Sales revenue group
  • Build sustainable dashboards that illustrate how key performance indicators and metrics are changing over time. Provide “color” and insights from the findings and make recommendations to the business
  • Provide ad hoc reporting to collaborators across the Video and Display businesses. This will involve running SQL queries for large data sets to identify business critical important metrics and building reports and dashboards directly from the data warehouse
  • Streamline business processes to mitigate problems that lead to revenue losses and resource inefficiencies
  • Bring a fresh perspective to departmental daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting, helping to position analysis in a creative and concise manner
  • Develop a deep understanding of yield management and revenue drivers of the ad sales business; uncover new / more efficient means of driving revenue
  • Be a representative of the Yield Strategy team and assist in developing/educating partner teams on data and strategic frameworks
  • Tackle revenue & analytics questions from across the organization

 

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • 2+ years related work experience in an analytical role
  • Basic working experience with SQL highly preferred with a desire to grow SQL skills and use SQL daily with the goal of writing & optimizing complex queries in the near term
  • Proficient with other analytical tools and languages supporting data analysis, reporting, and visualization - Excel (and MS Office), Looker Data Studio, Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Tableau
  • Comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization; able to effectively tell stories with data and present findings to a non-technical audience
  • Creative & analytical mentality; capable of combining the two to foster new ideas and improve processes
  • Comfortable growing in an autonomous/remote environment
  • Experience and or clear curiosity about working in the Entertainment / Media industry and specifically digital advertising analytics is highly preferred

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Revenue Operations, Data Analytics, Finance, Digital Sales or other quantitative fields
  • Relentless in improving the status quo; seeks to elevate the performance of the group and partner teams
  • Specific analytics experience (SQL, Tableau, Looker Data Studio, etc), with the ability to use data to tell a story and generate useful insights
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience building financial models
  • Ability to work cross-functionally across a large and complex organization with demonstrated success collaborating to tackle problems
  • Experience with Digital Ad Sales order and delivery systems such as Freewheel, GAM, Operative, Salesforce is a plus

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - 92,500.00. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.  This position is eligible to earn sales incentive compensation.
