Role Overview

The Retail & Trade Marketing Manager reports to the Consumer Products Director France and is responsible for defining and executing the annual retail activation strategy for the French market, ensuring strong in-store visibility, impactful retail partnerships, and profitable growth across key accounts for all licensees.

This role leads the development and implementation of retail marketing programs that drive sell-in and sell-through, maximize ROI, and strengthen Paramount’s presence across physical and e-commerce channels. The Retail & Trade Marketing Manager works cross-functionally with Licensing Category Manager, Marketing, and international teams to ensure best-in-class execution in the market.

While aligned with global franchise strategies, the primary focus of the role is retail activation excellence, commercial performance, and trade marketing leadership.

What will you be doing?

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute territory-specific franchise marketing plans and retail activations to support Paramount at retail, creating demand, value, awareness, and cross-divisional programs with other Paramount business units.
  • Inspire licensees and retailers through engaging brand and retail presentations.
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with marketing teams and buyers in conjunction with category teams to drive product placement, sell-in, and sell-through.
  • Define and implement the annual retail and trade marketing plan in line with commercial objectives and global brand priorities.
  • Develop short- and long-term retail channel strategies to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Lead the execution of 360° retail activation programs across key accounts (mass, specialists, e-commerce), including in-store visibility, POS, digital activation, promotions, co-marketing campaigns, and retail events.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with retail marketing teams, buyers, licensees, and distributors to support sell-in and maximize sell-through.
  • Support product launches and priority categories through tailored retail marketing initiatives in collaboration with category teams.
  • Manage trade shows, key partner meetings, and retail-facing events from concept to execution.
  • Own and optimize the trade marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and strong ROI.
  • Monitor the performance of retail activations, deliver post-campaign analysis, and benchmark against competitive activity.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between internal stakeholders (Licensing Category Manager, Marketing, International teams) and external partners to guarantee effective information flow and flawless execution.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple retail activations simultaneously, from strategy through execution and post-analysis.
  • Proven experience building and nurturing long-term relationships with retailers, buyers, licensees, and distributors.
  • Retail and trade marketing background within the entertainment, promotional packaged goods, or consumer products industry.
  • Fluency in both French and English.

Candidate profile:

  • Commercially driven, with strong analytical, financial, negotiation, and budget management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to confidently engage and influence stakeholders in a matrix and international environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership, resilience, adaptability, and a solution-oriented mindset when navigating change and driving business growth.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with operational execution, prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate, proactive, and hardworking, with strong relationship-building skills and a high level of professionalism, authenticity, and energy.
  • Open to feedback and continuous improvement, contributing to collaborative ways of working and more efficient team processes.
