OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CBS 3, KYW-TV / The CW Philly 57, WPSG-TV is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking News Producer who aspires to become a leader in the industry! As a key member of our team, you will bring your expertise and passion for news production to create engaging content that captivates our audience. This position requires exceptional skills in the booth, a keen understanding of allowing content to dictate the format, and proficiency in top story treatment and urgent production style. Your ability to excel in conversational writing and implement advanced production techniques will be crucial to the success of our news programs!
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Focus on thoughtful transitions and breakout opportunities to improve the flow of our news shows while crafting memorable on-air moments
- Demonstrate mastery in tease writing to create compelling hooks for upcoming segments
- Utilize creative graphics to visually improve the storytelling process
- Implement advanced production techniques to elevate the quality and impact of our news broadcasts
- Skillfully manage breaking news situations, adapting production plans as needed to deliver timely and accurate coverage
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience as a news producer with 3+ years of experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Exceptional conversational writing skills, enabling you to create engaging and relatable news content.
- Proficiency in the booth, with strong communication skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of non-linear editing systems; experience with Avid I-News or similar computer system preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards in every aspect of news production.
