Technician AR VR Jib Operator

CBS News Pittsburgh is seeking a highly skilled AR/VR Jib Operator. This role will maneuver a jib camera to create dynamic and creative shots in our AR/VR studio environment. This position will also support our studio operations team for a variety of productions. The role also may include Sony ELC Production Assistance operation, set changes, mic’ing of talent and guests, teleprompter operation, floor managing and other duties as assigned. Candidates must be able to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for setting up, operating and maneuvering camera jib arm for smooth camera movements that showcase on-air talent. 
• Must have a good eye for framing shots and understanding how camera movement can enhance visual storytelling in AR/VR. 
• Collaborate with ELC Operator and Producer to execute a fresh take on news presentation. 
• Must work well and collaboratively with other studio technicians, as well as work respectfully with on-air talent and outside guests. 
• Must be willing to work holidays, nights, and weekends as scheduled. 

Qualifications: 

• B.A. degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience in professional Jib Camera and/or field camera operation is a must.
• Knowledge of live TV studio environments is required.
• Knowledge of control rooms and control room operations is desired.
• Ability to operate computer-based systems as well as interact with various control interfaces is required.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
