This is a MATERNITY LEAVE cover role based in SYDNEY.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance TV Media, the Commercial Finance Manager will oversee financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and operations for Productions & Sport. Acting as a key partner to the Production team, this role plays a critical part in shaping the financial landscape of our productions.
You’ll be a leader who thrives on collaboration, inspires trust, and brings a proactive approach to driving process improvements while delivering accurate and timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities:

Production Financial Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely month-end reports, variance analysis, and commentary, with a focus on quarter-end closes.

Forecasting and Budgeting: Lead the preparation and presentation of quarterly forecasts, Annual Operating Plans, and Long-Range Plans, working closely with stakeholders and Finance teams.

Production Operations Oversight: Partner with the Global Business Support team to ensure compliance with reporting processes and effective management of production project codes.

Collaborate with production accountants to reconcile and close production projects, adjusting amortisation as needed.

Cashflow Management: Prepare and submit cashflow forecasts to the international team.

Revenue Tracking: Review overseas revenue (royalty contracts), request sundry invoices, and monitor revenue performance.

Leadership: Foster a collaborative and transparent culture, mentoring team members and building strong relationships across the company.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a dynamic finance professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate can manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively across various channels, and is driven by a customer-focused mindset.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent).

Minimum 7 years of experience in a broad finance role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.

Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.

Strong verbal and written business English skills.
Desirable Experience:

Experience in the Media and Entertainment industry.

Expertise in SAP or Oracle, particularly with project accounting and fixed asset modules.

Track record of leading process improvement initiatives.

Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork and collaboration.
