We are looking for an experienced and strategic HR leader to join our team heading up our local HR Operations function for a 6-month leave cover. Based in Sydney, this interim role plays a critical part in ensuring the continuity and excellence of HR service delivery across Network 10 and the wider Paramount business across ANZ.


The ideal candidate will bring deep HR operational expertise, a collaborative leadership style, and a passion for enhancing the employee experience through efficient, compliant, and people-centric practices. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic media business and work within a global HR operations framework during a key period of transition.


 
Purpose of the role:

Reporting into the global HR Operations function, this role will support the VP HR Network 10 in managing the daily HR operations for Network 10 and the Australia/New Zealand organization during a 6-month maternity cover. The position is based in the Sydney Network 10 office in Pyrmont.


One of the key responsibilities is to overseeing a collaborative team culture which strives to deliver best-in-class HR customer service in accordance with agreed scope of service, governance, policies, local legislation, and regulations, and agreed service levels.
Success will require a credible leader who has experience in managing HR functions and a strong ability to collaborate with others, capitalising on operational effectiveness, efficiency, and excellence, particularly with the aim to enhance the employee experience and improve data quality.


This role closely partners with colleagues at all levels across both the HR function and the wider business. As such, the role requires a strong and confident communicator and who can set clear expectations of both team members and stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities will also include: 
 

  • Lead delivery of the full scope of HR services and systems, as defined in the Global HR Service Catalogue, including performance, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency
  • Ensure all processes comply with local employment laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to support HR projects, prioritize initiatives, and resolve service delivery issues
  • Alignment and management of all resources and activities; including recruitment & development of talent, to ensure HR support services are administer by best-in-class HR talent experts
  • Ensure operational compliance and support both internal and external audits
  • Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to roll out programs, provide feedback, and recommend enhancements to processes and initiatives
  • Represent Network 10 HR Operations in senior leadership forums and cross-functional strategy discussions
  • Drive operational excellence, risk management, and service efficiency using defined KPIs and performance metrics
  • Manage Oracle system requirements and associated HR project responsibilities for Network 10
  • Oversee resolution of complex service delivery challenges and proactively manage risks using the Global Service Management Framework

 

What are we looking for in a Director, HR Operations? What’s important?  
 

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including leading teams and overseeing the development, implementation, and management of HR operations
  • Proven expertise with SuccessFactors and the ability to leverage HR data for insights and decision-making
  • Strong knowledge of HR legislation and best practices within Australia and New Zealand
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, and develop HR teams, fostering collaboration and high performance
  • Skilled in optimizing HR processes for increased efficiency and accuracy
  • Skills in guiding and managing teams through organisational changes such HR transformation and optimisation projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels, including regulatory bodies
