Paramount Pictures Australia is a global leader in the distribution of filmed entertainment. It is responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution of theatrical work produced by Paramount and other studios where local deals have been agreed within Australia. 

We now have a rare opportunity for an experienced Exhibition Relations and Sales Manager with knowledge and experience of the Australian film exhibition & film distribution market to join our team based in Sydney (Pyrmont). 

 

This is a permanent full time on-site role. 

 

Enough about us! What you’ll do as the Exhibition Relations and Sales Manager: 

 

The key purpose of this role is to drive and implement Exhibitor relationships and the Sales strategies and logistical processes with a dedicated list of exhibitors throughout Australia, ensuring Paramount Pictures is a preferred partner with exhibitors on film bookings.  

 

While the role is a part of the sales team, this person will also work closely with all of the marketing teams – media, publicity and promotions - to align the release strategies for each film and implement these with the exhibition marketing teams.  

 

Functions of the role will also include: 

 

Exhibitor Relations 

  • In Cinema trailering strategy and negotiation with major and independent exhibition programming teams to maximize our placement and exposure to align with our campaign.
  • Management of In Cinema material for all releases, including the negotiation of placement with major and independent exhibitors for both physical and digital in theatre material
  • Negotiation of both paid and unpaid placement with major and independent exhibitors for both physical and digital in theatre material.
  • Supervision and reporting of placement of our in-cinema materials and liaising with LA head office, exhibition head office and individual cinemas.
  • Negotiation of Pre-release screening campaigns - combining the Marketing and Sales strategies and objectives to negotiate with Exhibition Marketing and Programming on promotional activities and support.
  • Co-Op Promotional Activities including access to exhibitor’s databases, as well as Post Campaign analysis to evaluate ROI. 
  • Liaising with internal marketing department and participating in marketing WIPS to unlock greater opportunities through exhibition
  • Writing and requesting film specific exhibition talent greetings plus providing in theatre- materials to support media screenings. 
 

 

Sales Management 

  • Build, nurture & sustain working sales relationships with a dedicated list of exhibition clients including first run, second run, and small exhibitors 
  • Execute Sales strategy, holdovers and negotiations in the marketplace with an extensive list of exhibitors.
  • Ensure maximum exploitation of all new releases, as well as exploiting our extensive library of classic titles.
  • Paramount Exhibition Presentations – Presenter and Creative Participant. This includes Per Film and Full Slate presentations to exhibition marketing and programming teams as part of industry conferences throughout the year
  • Data entry in SAP and BASWARE and management of bookings on the MACCS film accounting system. 
  • Review & Analysis of Exhibitor & competitor film data, making recommendations for improvement and learning best practice. Presenting market analysis on a weekly basis.  

 

These are the essential criteria we’re looking for: 

  • Extensive Exhibition relationship management experience
  • Sophisticated data analysis skills
  • Excellent negotiating and administration skills
  • Knowledge & passion for film and the film and entertainment industry
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • A calm yet confident demeanour  
  • Good IT skills – MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential
  • Ability to work well within a team and take direction from multiple sources 
  • High level of attention to detail and able to manage conflicting priorities
  • High level of self-motivation  

 

These things will make you stand out from the crowd:  

  • Strong knowledge and experience of Australian Film Exhibition & Film Distribution Market
  • Exhibitor, Distributor, Media, Creative or Logistics experience
  • Knowledge of MACCS, IBOE and NUMERO data systems
  • Working knowledge of Cinema Management & Operations
  • SAP
