This is a permanent full-time role based in Pymont, Sydney.
(38 hours per week rotating shifts between 10am-9pm Monday-Friday with occasional rostered day on a weekend)
Enough about us! What you’ll do as a Graphic Artist:
The Graphic Artist is responsible for supporting the Video Graphics department in providing design services to the Network 10 newsroom and other Operations divisions from time to time.
The role will be liaising with Producers and Reporters, helping them clearly communicate stories to the public. This is a fast-paced role that requires effective and accurate communication with excellent time management as tight deadlines need to be met with the delivery of high-quality graphics production.
Functions will also include:
- Production of 2D/3D static and animated graphics: Receiving and processing graphic requests from Producers and Reporters. Ensuring all deadlines are met with quality graphics that fulfil all the requirements of the request; are accurate, clear, visually appealing and in the tone of the story.
- Shift Leading: attending morning editorial meetings, helping manage daily workloads so that deadlines are met, liaising with the Executive Producers from each market, and quality-checking graphics.
- Helping train junior designers to advance their skills and knowledge.
- Working on projects (e.g. graphics packages, themed elements, new templates, etc.)
- General team admin support as required.
What are we looking for in a Graphic Artist? What’s important?
- Exceptionally high level of organizational skills and an effective problem solver
- Mature, friendly and professional communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
- Outstanding attention to detail and a proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Media Encoder) and Microsoft Office.
- Vizrt, 3D, and programming skills are a definite advantage
- A fast learner with the ability to use your initiative, plan your work effectively and to be able to multi-task and take direction.
