About the role:

 

We have a new position available in our SYDNEY newsroom for an experienced News Producer to work on the dynamic 10News+.  

You will be an integral part of our editorial team. Your extensive newsroom experience will ensure the success of each broadcast. With your control room and lineup skills, combined with your ability to craft compelling news stories, you will be central to our operations.

Functions will include:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of news productions, ensuring seamless execution and high standards
  • Lineup News Bulletins with precision and attention to detail.
  • Actively contribute to editorial decisions, identifying and pitching stories that resonate with our audience.
  • Write, produce, and edit compelling stories that captivate viewers.
  • Create engaging news content for digital and social channels, expanding our reach and impact.
  • Produce dynamic bulletins, managing story development, script approvals, graphics, and animations from concept to broadcast.
  • Lead the production of News Special Events, showcasing our commitment to excellence.
  • Manage time pressures and meet multiple daily deadlines, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and resilience. 

 

About you:
 

  • In-depth knowledge of current affairs and issues relevant to our audience.
  • At least 3+ years of newsroom experience.
  • Degree in Journalism or related field.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience in control room operations and lineup management.
  • Tech-savvy and newsroom ready, with working knowledge of iNews and Avid MediaCentral preferred.
  • Willingness to work weekends and early/late shifts.
  • Proficiency in video journalism (VJ) or shooting is highly advantageous.
