This is a permanent role based on-site in our Pyrmont, Sydney office with shifts running 12-8pm and alternating Sundays.
Enough about us! What you’ll do as a Senior Social Media Producer:
Step into a leadership role where news meets innovation. As Senior Social Media Producer for 10 News+, you’ll drive our social strategy, lead growth initiatives, and shape how audiences engage with breaking news in real time. From mapping out impactful campaigns to overseeing live streaming and creating content that resonates, this role puts you at the forefront of digital storytelling. Functions will also include:

Lead and implement the social media strategy for 10 News+, driving audience engagement, ratings, and commercial growth

Create and publish compelling content across social platforms, ensuring accuracy, tone, and consistency with brand voice

Cover breaking news in real time, including managing live online streaming and rapid digital updates

Source, pitch, and adapt stories from digital spaces for both social and traditional broadcast formats

Manage and grow 10 News+ social accounts, applying strict community moderation standards and delivering on digital partnership requirements.
What are we looking for in a Senior Social Media Producer? What’s important?

Extensive experience in a newsroom or news production environment, with a deep understanding of breaking news workflows and digital publishing

Passion for social and digital media, combined with an innovative mindset for creating engaging, platform-specific content

Technical skills in CMS and editing tools, with demonstrated experience using Canva and Adobe Premiere for video and photo production

Exceptional attention to detail and fact-checking, supported by knowledge of media law and editorial standards

Flexibility and collaboration, able to work late nights, weekends, and thrive in a fast-paced, nationally connected news environment.
