We now have a role available in our Melbourne office for an experienced Technician.
As a Technician in our Melbourne team, you’ll be responsible for providing support for both IT and Broadcast systems across all departments within the station. This will offer exposure to a large and diverse range of equipment, from studio cameras and standardised IT infrastructure to customised applications, servers and SAN storage, so if you’re keen to learn and experience a varied role this is perfect for you.
Functions will include:
- Provide technical support and maintenance of IT equipment
- Provide technical support and maintenance of Broadcast equipment
- Provide technical support for Building and Plant equipment
- Work with equipment suppliers to ensure minimum down time and optimal reliability of technical equipment and systems.
- Provide a professional high level of service and guidance to end users and clients.
- Create documentation of systems and procedures.
What are we looking for in a Technician? What’s ideal?
Technical skills:
- Linux OS and scripting
- Windows Systems Administration
- Network Administration and Support
- Hardware troubleshooting
- Post-production systems (advantage)
- Broadcast graphics equipment (advantage)
- Media Asset management systems (advantage)
- SQL or Oracle databases
General aptitude:
- Demonstrated hardware skills, not purely IT
- Ability and willingness to troubleshoot problems, pull things apart and find a solution
- Open to learning and a flexible attitude
**This position involves a rotating shift roster to cover the operational requirements of the business covering early morning and late-night shifts as well as weekend and occasional overnight shifts.
