Overview & Responsibilities:

CBS Sports is looking for an Associate Programming Manager to help grow its rapidly growing live streaming division. This position will oversee preparation of overnight programming for CBS Sports HQ. Typical working hours are 4pm ET - 12am ET. The role will entail working with the production team to develop the overnight “wheel” programming that will run from midnight to 8am each day. Having a keen editorial eye, a passion for data-driving programming and a knack for what content sports audiences love to wake up to will be what drives you in this role!

The position will report to the Programming Manager and work closely with the CBS Sports HQ production team as well as the product team and third-party distribution partners. Along with an intimate knowledge of the sports audience landscape and a programming or editorial background, having impeccable organizational, communication and data analysis skills are keys to thriving in this role.

Position is based out of Stamford, but can be hybrid. Please note that it will involve predominantly nights and weekends.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop CBS Sports HQ’s overnight “wheel” programming that will air each night from midnight-8am
  • Provide an overnight digest explaining programming decisions for the morning production team and managers
  • Utilize audience data (social, search, site data, historical, etc) to help drive programming decisions
  • Schedule programming blocks in programming distribution tools for owned and operated and partner platforms
  • Collaborate with social, editorial, product marketing, PR and internal teams to drive awareness to key programming
  • Handle live event tile curation across apps
  • Manage a rolling sports event calendar for production and internal teams
  • Manage VOD shelf curation across owned and operated platforms


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in the streaming video space
  • Minimum 2-4 years working in media, preferably programming or editorial
  • In-depth sports knowledge, particularly sports that Paramount has broadcast rights to
  • Expert analytical experience with the ability to transform findings into actions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with experience working with talent and production members
  • Ability to work with and lead a collaborative production team and help guide and shape the editorial and distribution direction of our network
  • Strong ability to keep open lines of communication on a team
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
