Simon & Schuster’s Adams Media imprint seeks a short-term Marketing and Publicity Manager to join our team for 5-6 months starting in May. The right candidate will have experience pitching media, working with authors, organizing paid social media campaign assets, and collaborating closely across departments. The ability to manage campaigns independently and multi-task with ease is required. We are looking for someone with five years of experience in Book Publishing/Marketing/PR with a proven track record of executing successful marketing and publicity campaigns for lifestyle nonfiction titles. The ideal candidate will take the reins on approximately twenty books over the 5-6 month term.
Responsibilities
• Manage publicity and marketing efforts for select Adams Media titles (lifestyle nonfiction – key categories to include cooking, home dec, self-help, pop culture)
• Manage social media paid campaign assets and plans
• Handle outreach to influencers in key categories
• Coordinate efforts with assigned authors and their teams
• Collaborate closely with video, editorial, and corporate ad/promo team
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in book publishing, marketing, publicity, or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Keen attention to detail and positive attitude
• Must be well-organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure
• Proven publicity success – including high-level national broadcast contacts
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and MuckRack
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The annual salary for this position is $40.00 - $50.00 / hour
The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
