Overview and Responsibilities:
CBS Marketing Operations is looking for a Director to join the team! Marketing Operations is the connective layer between Marketing Strategy and Creative Production. In this role, the Director of Marketing Operations is the central hub for creative resource management—the air traffic control tower for our multi-brand marketing organization. This role ensures that creative assignments are prioritized, resourced, and routed efficiently across CBS, MTV, BET, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and Paramount+. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing Operations, you will own the visibility and orchestration of creative capacity, partnering closely with Campaign Managers and Creative leadership to balance workload, anticipate bottlenecks, and make informed decisions about assignment strategy. While other teams provide input and details, you are the decision-maker for prioritization and sequencing, ensuring the right talent is assigned to the right work at the right time. This role is critical to keeping our creative ecosystem running smoothly—bringing clarity and calm to a high volume of work, enabling leadership to act strategically, and protecting focus for high-priority initiatives. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker, a relationship builder, and a calm force within a fast-moving environment. You thrive on making things work better, bringing clarity to complexity, and enabling creative teams to do their best work. You see both the big picture and the operational details required to execute a large volume of work. You’re energized by solving problems, elevating cross-team operations, and enabling leadership to make informed, strategic decisions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the centralized resourcing model for creative teams, ensuring optimal talent-to-task alignment.
- Maintain real-time visibility into capacity, demand, and workload across AV, Design, Motion, Art, and related creative groups.
- Act as the decision-making partner for prioritization and sequencing of assignments.
- Anticipate high-volume cycles and proactively identify needs for external support.
- Filter and balance incoming work to maintain sustainable prioritization and protect focus for strategic initiatives.
- Design and maintain streamlined processes for intake, prioritization, assignment, and delivery.
- Establish consistent end-to-end processes that support both rapid-turn daily programming and longer-lead 360 campaigns.
- Ensure cross-team alignment across Strategy, Campaign Management, and Creative.
- Improve visibility into project flow for leadership to make informed decisions.
- Simplify handoffs between teams and create standard operating processes that scale.
- Own and optimize the operational tools that support marketing workflows, including Airtable, AI, Jira, SharePoint, and more.
- Partner with technology and production operations teams to streamline systems that support campaign planning, project flow, resourcing, reporting, and file management.
- Lead AI enablement across Marketing Operations to increase speed, reduce repetition, and support creative teams.
- Build dashboards for leadership visibility into throughput, capacity, and performance.
- Serve as the central point of connection between Marketing Ops and creative department leadership.
- Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships across brands and creative groups to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and expectations.
- Provide ongoing clarity and communication around what is active, what is upcoming, and where bottlenecks exist.
- Elevate operational insights to Marketing leadership so they can deploy resources, adjust priorities, and mitigate risks proactively.
Basic Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Marketing Operations, Creative Operations, Production Management, or a related function within entertainment, broadcast, or creative agency environments.
- Experience developing, monitoring, and reconciling project budgets to support operational and creative decision‑making.
Additional Qualifications:
- Head of Production or Senior Project management experience at an entertainment company or advertising/promotion agency is preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-brand or matrixed organizations.
- Familiarity with broadcast cycles, content pipelines, and 360 campaign launches.
- Strong experience with workflow systems, operational tools, or marketing project management platforms.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to synthesize insights into operational recommendations.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to bring order to complex systems.
- Experience implementing AI tools or workflow automation is a plus.
