ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT is looking for a Social Media Producer, Instagram to join our social media team. This team plays a vital role in keeping ET a top pop culture and entertainment news destination on the platform.
The right candidate lives and breathes entertainment news. You know the story powering the group chats, you have a point of view on how to tell it, and you know exactly how it should look and feel on Instagram. You move fast, write clean, and bring a sharp editorial eye to everything you post. And when the news cycle shifts (because it always does), you pivot without missing a beat. This is a high-visibility role. Your work will help shape how millions of fans experience ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT every day.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Produce 6–10 Instagram posts a day, including designing graphics, clipping video and writing copy, and self-publish independently with sound editorial judgment
  • Monitor the entertainment news cycle and pitch stories with high social engagement potential
  • Write both long-form captions that follow newswriting best practices and short, social-first captions in the ET voice
  • Partner with producers, editors and field teams to align Instagram coverage with ET’s on-air and digital storytelling
  • Stay ahead of Instagram trends and best practices to keep the ET brand relevant and first on the news
  • Track and report on social performance, and provide ongoing insights and strategic recommendations
  • Work occasional night and weekend shifts around major events

Basic Qualifications:

  • Journalism background, ideally in a digital newsroom
  • 4+ years of experience in social or digital media

Additional Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of the current entertainment news landscape, pop culture, internet culture and celebrity media
  • Strong command of Instagram, plus emerging best practices on TikTok, X, Facebook and YouTube Shorts
  • News producing experience, including story selection and journalistic best practices
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Premiere or other video editing software
  • Remarkable news judgment and the drive to make ET first and best on social
  • Ability to multitask and re-prioritize quickly around breaking news
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate concisely and professionally in a dynamic, collaborative environment

This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles or New York. The shift is Monday–Friday, 5am–2pm PT / 8am–5pm ET. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are in-office days in Studio City or New York City. Wednesday and Friday are remote.
