ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT is looking for a Managing Producer, Instagram & Social Strategy to lead editorial strategy, content creation and audience engagement for ET’s presence on Instagram! This role will oversee the daily output of a team of social producers, ensuring that ET remains a top destination for entertainment news on the platform. The shift for this role will be Monday-Friday, 7AM-4PM, with three days in the office: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. ET’s offices are located in Studio City, California.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production of daily Instagram content, including feed posts, Reels, Stories, and carousels, ensuring strong visual and editorial quality.
  • Maintain and evolve ET’s social aesthetic, ensuring consistency across all Instagram assets.
  • Design and create new templates for Instagram posts, optimizing for engagement while maintaining a polished, professional look.
  • Collaborate with video editors, producers and newsroom reporters to create engaging content and break news on platform.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics, using insights to inform strategy and optimize engagement.
  • Stay ahead of Instagram trends, algorithm changes, and industry best practices, applying them to ET’s social presence.
  • Coordinate coverage for major entertainment events, awards shows, and breaking news, ensuring real-time execution and audience engagement.
  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends, particularly around live events and breaking news.
     

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in social media, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role managing teams in a digital newsroom
  • Deep expertise in Instagram content strategy, platform best practices and audience engagement tactics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and other design tools to produce high-quality social-first visuals.
  • Experience covering live events, awards shows and breaking news in a digital newsroom setting.
  • Excellent writing and copy-editing skills, with the ability to craft engaging and accurate captions and headlines under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and use insights to drive content decisions and optimize engagement.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pivot quickly as the news cycle changes.
  • A passion for entertainment news, pop culture, and celebrity journalism.

Hiring Salary Range: $90000.0 - 110000.0. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
