Entertainment Tonight, the #1 entertainment news brand, is looking for the next standout Segment Producer to join our team! Entertainment Tonight delivers must-see celebrity interviews, breaking news, and pop culture moments to millions of viewers every night. As an Emmy Award-winning broadcast with an iconic legacy, we set the standard for entertainment journalism.

 

We are seeking a creative, experienced, and deadline-driven Segment Producer who can craft dynamic, headline-making segments from start to finish. The ideal candidate is a sharp writer with strong editorial instincts, who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom and has a deep passion for entertainment news and pop culture.

 

This position will be based in Los Angeles, working from our production office 5 days a week (Monday–Friday) with a start time of 7:00 am PT.

 

Responsibilities include but not limited too:

  • Write smart, engaging, and entertaining copy that reflects the ET voice and brand
  • Screen and select the strongest visuals, soundbites, and story angles to elevate every segment
  • Collaborate closely with editors, graphic artists, bookers, and producers to bring stories to life
  • Pitch and contribute interview questions that generate headlines and viral moment
  • Own the edit from concept through delivery, ensuring accuracy and polish on every piece

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience producing/writing for broadcast news, news magazine, or long-form digital media
  • Proficiency with newsroom tools (iNews, Interplay Assist) or ability to learn quickly

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent film/television production experience preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and drive a project from idea to completion
  • A standout writer with creativity, style, and an ear for unforgettable sound
  • Excellent news judgment and a strong grasp of entertainment/pop culture storytelling
  • Communicates clearly and thrives under deadline pressure
  • Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and able to juggle multiple assignments at once
  • Collaborative and open to feedback, with a positive and professional attitude

Hiring Salary Range: $98400.0 - 115000.0. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
