Overview & Responsibilities:

CBS Digital, a division of Paramount Global, is the world’s largest publisher of premium digital content and a perennial top 10 Internet company. CBS Digital’s brands span popular categories like technology, entertainment, sports, news and gaming. Properties include the websites, apps and streaming services of the CBS Television Network such as the Paramount+ subscription service, CBS News Digital platforms including the 24/7 digital news network CBSN, CBS media Ventures, and CBS Sports Digital brands including the 24-hour streaming sports news network CBS Sports HQ, as well as digital-first properties in key content verticals!

 

CBS Digital is looking for a transformative leader with expertise in strategic planning to lead a team of content strategists in support of all CBS digital properties. This person will oversee content strategy, growth, and monetization.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop short- and long-term budget plans, including building financial models and creating presentations for executive management
  • Build ROI greenlight models for new content investments, both acquired and produced
  • Manage internal pitching of CBS streaming channels: budgeting, content development, distribution, programming, success measurement, and growth
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to rapidly grow our digital business through innovation and optimization
  • Identify and value potential acquisitions and divestments
  • Manage efforts to distribute CBS streaming channels in close collaboration with central distribution and sales teams
  • Develop growth strategies for streaming, digital, social and third-party platforms
  • Find opportunities and pursue partnerships to better monetize content, in partnership with internal sales and BD teams
  • Apply a deep understanding of digital analytics and performance tracking to optimize content production and programming across platforms and dayparts
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in content or streaming, preferably with experience in sports, news, and/or entertainment
  • Highly competent in using data and insights to make sound business decisions around content strategy and programming
  • Deep knowledge of the direct-to-consumer competitive landscape and understanding of the editorial needs of different audiences in a digital environment
  • Strong knowledge on growing audiences across social and digital platforms.
  • Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, strategy, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities while encouraging a team to do their best work
  • Passion for producing content and collaborative in the process
  • Superb verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • Excellent judgment, unflappable demeanor, effective collaborator

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree focused in Management, Strategy, Statistics, Finance, and Marketing

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

Hiring Salary Range: $177,000 - $235,000 plus bonus plans. 

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
