Summary

 

As our team continues growing rapidly, we are seeking a Senior Director to help lead strategy development and innovation processes for the Streaming Tech org. This role will work closely with the Office of the CTO and key technology leaders to drive pivotal initiatives to:
 

  • define and implement organizational and technology strategies,
  • build and streamline org-wide processes and operations
  • build cross-functional bridges across the growing Streaming Tech org.

 

The Senior Director will play a critical leadership role in the Streaming Tech organization, and will also build out a team under them to support and enable all key initiatives.
 

Responsibilities

 

Office of CTO

  • Identify strategic gaps and challenges (tech, process and people related) and drive initiatives to address them
  • Help the Streaming Tech leadership team establish a shared vision across the team by building consensus on priorities and
  • Partner with our communications teams to draft documents to communicate internally and externally
  • Deep dive into high priority technology issues and drive partner concerns as needed
  • Work with engineering, program and product managers leads to define team strategies through effective communication

 

Org Design & Processes

  • Ensure key tech strategy meetings are relevant, well structured, and participants are appropriately prepared
  • Drive initiatives to enable more efficient org scaling and employee engagement, including onboarding and key employee experience initiatives
  • Enhance efficiency in a dynamic environment with fluid processes driving innovative problem solving
  • Run weekly leadership meetings and ensure agenda topics are relevant and high impact
  • Maintain and improve organizational processes and structures, especially around technology roadmaps,, partner concerns, and leadership alignment
  • Partner with HR & Finance to help drive key planning activities, including annual headcount, budgeting, long-range planning, and infrastructure capacity planning

 

Innovation & Transformation

  • Help structure strategic frameworks for driving and enabling technology innovation
  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure alignment on innovation initiatives
  • Partner with our PMO to adopt agile processes for portfolio management are applied to our innovation agenda
  • Measure and monitor progress of key initiatives around innovation
  • Collaborate with Senior Director for Strategic Partnerships to leverage partner product advances to accelerate innovation
     

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Work with senior leadership to formulate a comprehensive strategy for Paramount Streaming Tech
  • Formulate well-adapted 1, 3 and 5-year (near-term and long-range) strategic technology plans
  • Develop key metrics and process to assess and measure performance
  • Collaborate with key teams to introduce or improve technology solutions to scale the business
  • Work closely with our Office of the CTO to drive tech strategy for all major growth and innovation initiatives

 

Enabling Organization Success

  • Support the SVP of Tech Strategy to drive strategic technology thought leadership and manage the pace & priorities of the Tech Strategy organization
  • Develop and nurture cross interpersonal partner relationships to amplify alignment with critical internal partners
  • Ensure we are improving all opportunities to enable the Streaming Tech team to run, grow and innovate
  • Implement tools and processes to improve data-driven decision making

 

Team Culture / People Strategy

  • Partner with HR leaders, to drive organizational and culture initiatives focused on creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with our comms teams to oversee internal & customer communications including Town Halls and other employee engagement activities
  • Partner with our People Experience teams to ensure we implement best-in-class onboarding for new team members to ensure new hires are welcome and set up for success

 

Qualifications

  • Capacity to build and manage an highly impactful strategy team,, supporting the CTO and VP’s success and elevating the outcomes of your partners
  • You are a strategic problem solver and serve as a trusted advisor to the VP
  • 10+ years of experience in Software Development, Management Consulting, Corporate Development, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, or Finance/Investment Banking/Venture Capital
  • At least 5+ years of leadership experience working with or within media & tech industry leaders startups and strategic experience from a strategy, technology, product management, or program management perspective
  • Effective people / team management capabilities enabling management of an impactful team
  • Highly adaptable, and strong collaborator, fierce advocate and influencer
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in an innovative, startup-like, fast-paced environment, with rapid exploration and ability to implement
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects (often including project management of cross-functional “virtual” teams)
