Overview

The Vice President, Sales – Theatrical Distribution (Canada) is a senior leadership role tasked with driving revenue, maximizing box office performance, and managing strategic relationships with Canadian distribution and exhibition partners. This role serves as the primary liaison between Paramount Pictures and Canadian theatrical distributors, ensuring alignment on release strategies, marketing initiatives, and commercial objectives.
 
Based in Canada, this position plays a critical role in shaping the success of Paramount’s theatrical slate in the region, leveraging market insights and well-developed industry relationships to optimize performance across all titles. This posting is for an existing position vacancy. 
 

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Leadership of Canadian sales team, providing direction, encouragement, performance development and support to the sales directors and managers
  • Implement theatrical sales strategy and execution for Paramount Pictures’ film slate across Canada
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with Canadian distributors, exhibitors, and key industry stakeholders
  • Negotiate commercial terms, release plans, and distribution agreements to maximize revenue and market share
  • Collaborate closely with domestic distribution, marketing, and publicity teams to align on campaign strategies
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and box office performance to inform strategic decisions
  • Evaluate theatre and market performance data and prepare detailed reports regarding sales activity
  • Provide sales forecasts, reporting, and performance analysis to senior leadership
  • Identify opportunities to expand market presence and drive incremental revenue across theatrical channels
  • Work closely with Operations to provide insight into account and product needs and requirements for the Canadian market
  • Ensure effective coordination between local partners and internal teams to deliver best-in-class film launches
  • Represent Paramount Pictures at industry events, screenings, and partner meetings in Canada

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in film distribution, theatrical sales, or a related entertainment/media field
  • Proven track record of managing high-value partnerships and driving revenue growth
  • Deep knowledge of the Canadian theatrical marketplace, including key distributors and exhibitors
  • Deep knowledge and proficiency with Excel
